Yahoo! Launches $100 Million Ad Campaign

Ogilvy recently launched Yahoo!’s first truely global ad campaign during Advertising Week. The $100 million dollar campaign, according to Yahoo! Corporate blog is “Yahoo!’s single-largest global integrated marketing campaign ever” featuring large production value broadcast, digital and print. I saw a couple billboards last weekend on my drive home from San Jose.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom took some time to write about OgilvyWest’s latest project: RecyclingMoments.org

In San Francisco, we have led the country in creating ambitious yet achievable programs to help residents and businesses decrease the amount of waste going into our landfill. Our modern curbside program began back in the 80s with the crazy idea that people could recycle their newspapers.

“Big” kids can become sorting experts too. Check out Recycle Slam, an old school styled game we created that teaches kids (and their parents) about proper sorting. I warn you it is a bit addictive.

Everyone has worked incredibly hard over the past few months on this fun campaign for SF Environment. It feels like it has take forever to get where we are today, but we’re here! We built an amazing 3D microsite, game, banners and a great print campaign to support the effort. Soon you should be seeing it around SF. Huge congratulations go out to the entire team in SF and a few lucky folks in LA.
