We recently developed an augmented reality application demo for a digital pitch for Wells Fargo. This demo shows how to utilize the iPhone 3GS or an Android phone’s compass, camera, and GPS system to show the user additional localized content when they are near Wells Fargo ATM locations. A simple but focused demo showcasing how brands can use the capabilities of next-gen smart phones.

SF Environment – Recycling Changes Everything

The San Francisco Department of the Environment came to us with a small budget and an aggressive goal: encourage residents of San Francisco to increase their recycling and composting efforts. Although San Francisco leads the country in waste diversion (how much we recycle and compost vs. throw in the trash), they wanted to help residents discover the little things that can be easily done everyday to change their habits and make them feel better about themselves and their city. So we found San Franciscans who wanted to tell their story about why they recycle or compost – and asked them to be the heroes of our campaign.

More than a year in the making, we’re thrilled to announce that the Great Recycling Moments campaign is now live across the great city of San Francisco. Keep your eyes open for our ads on bus shelters, the backs of buses, your favorite local websites and posters in your neighborhood stores.

Everyone at Ogilvy worked incredibly hard several months on this fun campaign for SF Environment. We built an amazing 3D microsite, game, banners and a great print campaign to support the effort. For the microsite we used Adobe Flex, AS3, Papervision3D, XML, PHP and mySQL.

Users are able to view submitted stories in a very unique 3D interface and they can submit their own stories and photo to be featured on the site. The site is complete with and administrative backend so the team at SF Environment can easily manage the content of the site.

Huge congratulations go out to the entire team in SF and a few lucky folks in LA.
